Joint MED-CBU seminar
We are pleased to announce a joint MED-CBU seminar on the 21st of March, 11:15 – 13:00. Like last time the seminar aims to foster interaction between researchers at MED and CBU and will be followed by a mingling lunch. The seminar will take place in the ‘Blåbær’ seminar room at CBU, 5th floor of the Datablokk at Høyteknologisenteret. If you need help with directions, please let us know.
If you are interested in joining this event, please contact Marc (marc.vaudel@uib.no), Harald (harald.barsnes@uib.no), or Silje (Silje.Skrede@uib.no) to ensure that enough food is ordered. 2024 NBS Symposium
On Wednesday 10th of April (from 09.00 to 13.00) NBS Bergen are arranging a symposium on the 3rd floor of BBB. The event is meant to be informal and fun. There will be short talks, a “reuse your old poster”- poster session with pizza (sponsored by the Bergen Biomedical Research School). We will end the symposium with a Keynote lecture from Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz from Janelia Research Campus, Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), VA, USA.

To make the day as fun as possible, we hope that many of you will sign up with your old posters, or just join as a participant. Everyone is welcome to present a poster, students, PhDs and professors alike. There might even be a prize!

Mobiliseringsseminar: KI for tillit og bærekraft
I forbindelse med den kommende utlysningen av KI-milliarden ønsker Forsknings- og innovasjonsavdelingen ved UiB (FIA) å invitere fagmiljø som forsker på kunstig intelligens til et mobiliseringsseminar. Formålet er å synliggjøre KI-miljøer og senterinitiativer ved UiB, og identifisere muligheter for tverrfaglige samarbeid i det videre arbeidet. Forskningsrådets styre besluttet i møte 7. februar at Regjeringens milliardsatsing «KI for tillit og bærekraft», skal lyses i ut form av 4-6 sentre for kunstig intelligens. Sentrene skal være 5-årige, tematiske og utfordringsdrevne, og fremme tverrfaglige, tverrinstitusjonelle og tverrsektorielle samarbeid. Her kan du lese mer om hvordan Forskningsrådet ser for seg innretningen for sentrene i hvert av de tre hovedsporene – samfunnskonsekvenser, teknologiutvikling og innovativ bruk.

Invitasjon til seminar fra Senter for ernæring
Senter for ernæring har gleden av å invitere til et nytt seminar i vår seminarrekke. Serien tar opp sentrale utfordringer innen ernæring og helse. Inge Tetens fra Institutt for idrett og ernæring, Københavns Universitet, vil presentere sin forskning for oss.
Professor Inge Tetens from the Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports at the University of Copenhagen. Her primary goal is to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the scientific basis for optimal health and well-being through healthy diets.
One of her research areas is healthy aging. Her research in this area focuses on identifying dietary and lifestyle factors that can help older adults maintain independence, and quality of life, and prevent age-related health problems. Her current research activities relate to bone and muscle health during aging, with a focus on dietary intake of calcium, protein quantity, and quality.

MRCRM 2nd International Meeting in Regenerative Medicine
Mohn Research Center for Regenerative Medicine (MRCRM) invites you to join our 2nd International Meeting on Regenerative Medicine at Grand Hotel Terminus on April 15th and 16th, 2024.
The scientific program features renowned speakers presenting the latest advancements in regenerative medicine, including the development of advanced therapies and insights from clinical studies. We also invite master’s and PhD students to showcase their research during the Lightning Talk Session (see the link below for more information).
