Dear all;

Summer holidays are over, and I hope that you all have had nice days in Norway or abroad, and that your «batteries» are fully loaded before the autumn semester.

Teaching started already last week, and many of you have a lot of teaching obligations the coming weeks. For those of you who are teaching in histology, be aware that the last teachers microscope is broken. A new microscope has been ordered, but it is a bit uncertain when it will arrive our department, but likely in a few weeks time. For those of you who start their histology teaching soon, you should consider using digitized sections (talk to me about this).

Finally, I would like to draw attention to the seminar on Wednesday at 12.00, in 5th floor BBB. Ass. Prof Daniel Jirak from Institute of Experimental Medicine, Prague, Czech Republic, will hold a lecture entitled «Magnetic resonance and optical imaging of pancreatic islets.» His lab in experimental magnetic resonance is doing research in molecular imaging, specifically on visualization of transplanted cells by MRI and optical imaging. Different animal models are used to study a variety of pathological conditions, from diabetes to cancer.

Welcome to all!
Best regards
